Project Summary / Description:
Carbon Capacity Response of Artificial Kelp Reef to Deployment of Oceanite Mineral Habitats with CO2 Sequestration Potential in Halifax, Nova Scotia Deployed in 2021, Report of Carbon Sequestration Success Calculations Brings Phase Two Analysis Update Requests from UN/UNESCO SDG14. ● A single small ReefShip module, short-term growth on the top surface, shows 140 or more kelp stipes, with 20 modules accommodating approximately 2,800 stipes, each reaching at 14 month results, 90 cm in length and 1 cm in width, at a minimum. ● According to our photo estimations from 2022 the top surface of one square meter of deployed Oceanite grew kelp which held at least 10.6 kgC/year. Higher than 10.6kgC/year capacities as both interior void structure and sides were NOT counted in this estimation.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
We have hired cultural directors and are in meetings with tribal leaders and organizations on both coastlines of Canada, both leaders are eager to see indigenous communities have the small fisheries abundance,
