How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
iPAGE empowers underrepresented groups, particularly smallholder farmers, a demographic largely comprising vulnerable communities in both rural and climate-vulnerable regions. Among the 23,200 farmers served, 34% are female farmers, ensuring that women have access to the tools and insights needed to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve profitability. This inclusion of women, often overlooked in agricultural technology, is critical for advancing gender equity in agriculture and climate resilience. The platform also benefits climate-vulnerable communities by providing data-driven insights that reduce the environmental impacts of farming. By cutting synthetic fertilizer usage by 25% and reducing 2M kg of CO2 emissions per year, iPAGE directly mitigates climate impacts that disproportionately affect small farmers, many of whom are already on the front lines of climate change. In terms of organizational representation, iPAGE actively integrates women and youth into the development and deployment of our platform. We work with local community partners and NGOs to ensure that diverse groups are engaged, trained, and supported in utilizing our technology. This approach fosters inclusivity and empowerment, enabling these groups to actively participate in the climate movement through better agricultural practices and financial independence, contributing to both environmental sustainability and socio-economic equity.
