Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Kivu Trade Carbon is deeply committed to empowering climate-vulnerable communities in North Kivu, including underrepresented groups such as women, youth, and marginalized local populations. In regions that have faced economic instability and limited access to resources, we provide a platform for community-based environmental stewardship that enables these groups to actively participate in and benefit from the carbon credit market. Our approach emphasizes capacity-building and knowledge transfer, offering training sessions for women and young people in sustainable land management, agroforestry, and carbon project development. By equipping these groups with essential skills, we foster economic independence and create new revenue sources through carbon credit sales. In our team, we prioritize hiring locally and maintain a diverse staff where women hold leadership roles in community outreach, training, and project monitoring. Furthermore, we ensure that local voices and perspectives shape our project’s development through partnerships with community leaders and organizations. This structure ensures that underrepresented groups are not only beneficiaries but also key decision-makers, promoting inclusivity and ensuring that our climate solutions are locally relevant and sustainable.
