Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
At Lima-Aja, we focus on empowering women and youth, two groups often overlooked in the climate movement but essential for creating meaningful change. Women make up a large portion of smallholder farmers in Rwanda but often face challenges like limited access to resources, markets, and opportunities to lead. Our project works to change this by ensuring women are active participants in farmer cooperatives, providing them with targeted training, and connecting them to fair and reliable markets. Youth are also at the heart of what we do. We see them as the future of sustainable agriculture and climate action. Providing training and employing young people in areas like logistics and technology, we create jobs and equip them with valuable skills, making farming and climate solutions an exciting and viable path for them. We are a women-led organization, with the understanding that women and youths hold key roles, shaping the way we operate and ensuring our approach is inclusive and innovative.
