How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project empowers underrepresented groups, particularly women, youth, and climate-vulnerable communities, by providing access to clean energy, economic opportunities, and capacity-building. Women, responsible for energy-intensive household tasks, will benefit from reduced physical strain through reliable energy for lighting, cooking, and other household needs. This enables them to engage in more economically rewarding activities like farming, small-scale retail, and cold storage, increasing their financial independence and decision-making power. The project prioritizes women and youth in job creation, especially in roles requiring minimal training, such as vending outlets, with a specific focus on training in energy-efficient practices and renewable energy technologies. Youth will also benefit from extended study hours, better-qualified teachers, and exposure to modern technologies, promoting technological literacy and fostering future leaders in the climate space. Women and youth hold leadership roles in Magnificent, ensuring diverse perspectives. Climate-vulnerable communities, such as rural farmers, are empowered through energy access that supports irrigation systems and climate-smart agriculture, reduces post-harvest losses, improves market access, and boosts agricultural productivity. The project integrates these communities into decision-making and offers tailored training. In the Ukpata community, affected by Fulani herdsmen issues, the project will enhance lighting and safety and employ veterans impacted by the clashes.
