How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our platform is increasing earnings of Tuk-tuk drivers by more than 50% and their upfront cost has reduced by 40% to adopt an EV as they won’t have to buy a battery anymore. This is making a positive impact on their livelihoods and they are loving it. Our cost-effective and convenient solution enable more people regardless of economic status to adopt EVs, reducing reliance on fossil-fuels and improving local air quality. We aim to bridge the energy access gap for low-income, climate-vulnerable communities, particularly those in urban or rural areas with limited access to electric vehicle infrastructure. Additionally, the Mile prioritizes creating employment opportunities in underrepresented communities by hiring locally for station operations, maintenance, and technical roles. We will specifically focus on recruiting women, people of color, and youth for these positions, offering training and career advancement in clean energy technologies. Our team is committed to ensuring that decisions are made with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by these groups. We also collaborate with local organizations that focus on empowering underrepresented populations, ensuring our approach is community-driven and inclusive. This not only strengthens our project’s social impact but also fosters a more equitable transition to sustainable energy.
