How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project empowers underrepresented groups by integrating them into the core of our clean energy and livelihood development model. We prioritize women, tribal communities, and youth in climate-vulnerable rural regions. Women are actively engaged as entrepreneurs, running micro-enterprises supported by solar mini-grids. This not only improves their income but also enhances their agency in decision-making processes. Tribal communities and youth are trained in technical, business, and financial skills, enabling them to operate and benefit from the solar-powered ecosystem. To ensure representation, our organization reflects these values. Over 25% of our workforce comprises women and members of tribal communities. Leadership roles are held by individuals from these groups, including our General Manager. Our inclusive hiring practices ensure opportunities for underrepresented groups, aligning with our mission to foster equitable climate action. By addressing systemic barriers to participation, we ensure that these groups not only benefit from but also lead and sustain climate-resilient initiatives, making them active stakeholders in the climate movement. This approach transforms marginalized communities into agents of change while creating a replicable model of inclusive climate action.
