How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Mothership Materials actively prioritizes empowering underrepresented groups in the climate movement by designing equity into every facet of our operations and mission. Our TRACE™ platform enables deployment in underserved and climate-vulnerable communities where waste is abundant but economic opportunities are limited. By creating revenue-sharing models with local farmers and agricultural stakeholders, we provide new income streams for communities that are disproportionately affected by climate change and often excluded from the benefits of emerging bioeconomy markets. Our organization itself reflects this commitment to diversity and inclusion. Mothership Materials is co-founded and led by women, with a leadership team that values representation and the unique perspectives of underrepresented groups. We actively recruit diverse talent and collaborate with stakeholders in rural and economically marginalized regions to ensure that the voices of those most affected by climate change are heard and involved in decision-making processes. Additionally, our technology’s low-cost, modular design is intentionally accessible, allowing youth, women, and local entrepreneurs in climate-vulnerable areas to adopt and scale our solutions. By creating pathways for economic participation and leadership within the bioeconomy, we aim to ensure that historically underrepresented groups are at the forefront of climate solutions and innovation.
