Mundo Común is co-founded and led by Latin American women, emphasizing the importance of voices from historically underrepresented groups in global climate leadership. With 75% of our team being women, we prioritize collaboration with grassroots activists, Indigenous peoples, Afro-descendant communities, rural populations, and those most vulnerable to climate change. These groups often face social and economic injustices, yet their perspectives are crucial for effective climate action. We work to amplify their voices, fostering resilience and justice, ensuring they play a central role in shaping strategies for climate solutions.

Our approach emphasizes care and interdependence as fundamental practices. Initiatives like Restorative Experiences provide opportunities for community leaders—80% of whom are women—to heal, reconnect, and co-create transformative strategies. These week-long immersions in nature allow participants to pause from activism, process grief, and gain tools for collective empowerment. In just 18 months, we have facilitated six such experiences, supporting over 160 leaders in reconnecting with their purpose and inspiring renewal.

By centering care, we challenge existing systems of extraction and inequity, encouraging leaders to prioritize their well-being while sustaining their transformative efforts. Our work ensures underrepresented voices shape innovative climate action, effectively bridging local insights with global strategies.
