Primary Project Category:
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
As a woman founder, I actively engage with several women-led groups and associations that amplify women's voices in CDR. I strive to highlight the achievements of my female colleagues to raise awareness in the field. In 2023, I won a contest for women in climate science, aiming to inspire other women to pursue similar paths. Norma is committed to inclusive hiring practices, openly encouraging diverse applications in our job postings specifically for scientific or engineering roles where underrepresentation is strong. Currently, in addition to our core team (2), we have two interns, and both are women. Equally important is our commitment to engaging youth. The current team is predominantly young. As a startup we value the energy, talent and commitment to fight against climate change that young people can bring. As a deeptech startup more specifically, we have a strong culture of learning and sharing which also applied to mentoring the more junior hires.
Mission Statement:
We are developing a Direct Air Capture technology engineered to be the most energy-efficient solution, with a low-cost setup and eco-friendly, non-toxic materials that make it exceptionally scalable.
