Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Nyalore Impact is committed to empowering underrepresented groups in the climate movement by providing access to clean cooking solutions and fostering economic opportunities. With an operational office in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Nyalore serves over 300,000 refugees, addressing their unique challenges related to clean energy and affordability. Refugees, often excluded from mainstream climate initiatives, are central to Nyalore's mission. Nyalore has trained 15 young women from Kakuma as digital marketers and clean cooking champions for its electric pressure cookers (EPCs). These women educate their communities on the benefits of clean cooking and provide "Cooking as a Service" (CaaS) to refugee households that cannot afford to purchase modern cooking appliances. Through this model, refugees can access safe and energy-efficient cooking options while champions earn a sustainable income, fostering both environmental and economic resilience. By prioritizing women and youth in its programs, Nyalore not only addresses gender disparities but also ensures that marginalized groups are active participants in climate solutions. These initiatives build a network of advocates within the refugee community, amplifying their voices in the global climate movement. Nyalore’s work demonstrates that inclusive solutions are critical for achieving equitable progress toward sustainability and resilience.
