Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our project actively empowers underrepresented groups, particularly smallholder farmers in rural Madhya Pradesh, by integrating them into every stage of the biochar production process. By prioritizing partnerships with local Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), we ensure that women and marginalized communities have equitable access to training, resources, and decision-making roles. Our project aims to enhance their livelihoods by providing fair compensation for crop residue collection and creating new income streams through biochar production and sales.

Additionally, we conduct targeted outreach programs to educate these communities about sustainable agricultural practices and the benefits of biochar for soil health and crop yields. Our team is diverse, including members from various backgrounds, which fosters inclusivity and allows us to better address the specific needs of the communities we serve. By promoting leadership roles for women and youth within local FPOs, we aim to cultivate a new generation of climate leaders who can advocate for sustainable practices and influence local agricultural policies. This approach not only builds capacity but also enhances community resilience against climate impacts, ensuring that those most affected by environmental changes have a voice and are active participants in climate solutions.
