How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
PSDN Nepal has been putting vulnerable and underrepresented groups at the center of its projects and programs, ensuring that their voice is heard inclusively and equitably in response to the impacts of climate change. Each intervention has been designed based on thorough vulnerability assessments to prioritise those who have been most affected by global warming and climate change. These include people with disabilities, the ultra-poor, indigenous communities, women, children, senior citizens, and other marginalised groups who are excluded from social services provided by the governments and aid organisations. It places these groups at the forefront by involving them in active project planning, decision-making, and implementation, allowing them to take ownership of climate solutions. We focus on capacity building for resilience, enabling them to lead the process in sustainable initiatives such as forest restoration, watershed management, and rainwater harvesting. In PSDN, representation matters. We make sure to include underrepresented groups, particularly women and indigenous peoples, in our leadership and management structures for projects. Such inclusivity within the structure creates an avenue for perspectives to differ and ensures that programs capture the peculiar needs of these communities and advance equitable development for long-term impact.
