How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
PiKARE SKYSOURCE actively empowers underrepresented groups, particularly climate-vulnerable communities, by providing sustainable water and energy solutions to regions most affected by climate change and resource scarcity. For example, our upcoming pilot project in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, will directly support earthquake-affected communities, many of whom are displaced and lack access to basic resources. This project will deliver clean water and renewable energy to these vulnerable populations, addressing immediate needs while fostering long-term resilience. Within our organization, we prioritize inclusivity by actively engaging women, youth, and local communities in our operations. Women hold 30% of leadership positions in PiKARE SKYSOURCE, and we are committed to increasing this representation through targeted hiring and mentorship programs. Additionally, we collaborate with local engineers and technicians in disaster-affected areas, ensuring that our solutions are co-created with and for the communities we serve. Our technology, AWEG, is designed to operate independently of existing infrastructure, making it ideal for marginalized and underserved regions. By addressing water and energy inequities, PiKARE SKYSOURCE not only empowers vulnerable groups but also creates opportunities for them to participate in the climate movement as stakeholders and beneficiaries.
