Project Summary / Description:
We currently produce 50,000 tons of palm fruit annually, with plans to expand production to nearly 200,000 tons within the next five years. During oil extraction, approximately 40% of the fruit is converted into empty fruit bunches (EFB), fiber, and palm kernel shells (PKS). We have already implemented equipment capable of processing 450 kg per hour into biochar, achieving excellent results. This biochar is being utilized to enhance acidic soils, improving both soil health and nutrient availability. Additionally, we are permanently sequestering carbon in the soil, contributing to long-term environmental benefits. We are in the process of certification with Puro Earth to generate verified carbon credits, further advancing our commitment to sustainability and climate action.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Give employment in marginal areas.
