PROXYM GROUP empowers climate-vulnerable communities, particularly low-income motorcycle taxi drivers in Central Africa, by offering affordable, sustainable mobility solutions. In Douala, the number of motorcycles has grown exponentially from 30,000 to 250,000 over the past 20 years, highlighting the critical role they play in urban transportation and livelihoods. However, this growth has also brought challenges, including rising fuel costs, pollution, and limited income stability for drivers.

Our electric motorcycles and battery-swapping model address these issues by reducing operating costs, increasing drivers' profitability, and cutting emissions. With the majority of drivers being youth, our solution directly supports their economic empowerment while creating a cleaner, more sustainable urban environment.

We also champion gender inclusion by fostering opportunities for women as drivers and in operational roles, while prioritizing the hiring of youth and individuals from underrepresented communities.

By transitioning Douala’s rapidly growing motorcycle fleet to electric, PROXYM GROUP is not just meeting the city's transportation needs but also paving the way for sustainable urban mobility.
