How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our technology empowers underrepresented groups in the climate movement by addressing systemic barriers to participation and fostering inclusive, community-driven solutions. We engage marginalized and climate-vulnerable coastal communities—such as those in the Galapagos—in co-designing locally produced biocement solutions that support resilience and environmental restoration. By leveraging community knowledge, fostering education on sustainable production techniques, and licensing our technology, we enhance autonomy and create pathways for economic opportunity. Our collaborations also help preserve homes and livelihoods, protect property values, and build coastal resilience. Moreover, by displacing traditional, highly polluting cement products with carbon-sequestering alternatives, our efforts contribute to global climate justice, benefiting those disproportionately affected by industrial practices and environmental degradation. Internally, our organization aims to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. As a female-founded organization, who have firsthand experienced systemic bias in advancing climate solutions, we have intentionally designed our organizational values to foster an environment of inclusivity. We know that the best solutions come from a diversity of thought and collaboration. Our "Systems > Silos" value reflects our commitment to breaking down barriers and embracing creativity through a holistic, systems and design thinking approach.

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to enable nature to drive resilient material solutions for climate. We envision a world where nature-based materials have replaced Portland Cement in coastal infrastructure, enabling a construction sector that is circular and renewable, mobilizing the sector to regenerate coastlines and provide superior protection for coastal communities.
