How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
We work in many diverse communities and support diverse community leaders. We advocate for policies that promote energy equity and environmental justice. The policies we most actively support are those that uplift marginalized community members while advancing climate action, and we bring a justice lens into all of our policy work. Part of how we achieve success is by working with local leaders to engage diverse community members and stakeholders, particularly those most marginalized or vulnerable, bringing them into the policy-making process. Our small but growing team includes women, people of color, youth, and those with lived experiences of climate impacts. Additionally, we work with a large group of interns, all students or recent graduates, providing them with hands-on experience in climate policy and communications, helping them develop their changemaking and leadership abilities while having a direct and immediate impact. We actively seek to recruit interns from underrepresented groups (all our interns are youth, and we work to achieve further representation beyond age), and we offer funding for those interns that are unable to find external funding sufficient to allow them to participate in our internship program.
