How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The project encourages rural women farmers to actively participate in this value chain as a means to generate much needed income in their households. In this project, Coffee farmers are actively involved in the operations, processing waste into eco- briquettes. Through training, farmers are able to work at different stages of Eco-Briquette production. The proposed model allows women to train in eco-briquette making, get financial literacy and environmental awareness as one of the forms of fighting climate change and poverty.
