How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
We measure our impact according to 9 of the UN SDGs: increasing income for farmers, employing women, providing access to sanitary pads & education around menstrual hygiene, measuring the plastic waste eliminated & CO2 emissions reduced. We surveyed urban & rural women to understand the impact of access to menstrual products & the reasons they are looking for alternatives to the products that exist in the market. We reduce inequality by providing access to menstrual products to those who don’t have access, we are able to contribute to them staying in school or work which has long-term impacts on their prospects for the future. Saathi’s pads materials are locally sourced and therefore support local farmers because we are paying for a waste material they would normally discard. Additionally, we employ an all-women staff in our manufacturing unit.

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to revolutionize the hygiene industry by producing a scalable model for sustainable manufacturing.
