How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Saroja.Earth fundamentally empowers climate-vulnerable agricultural communities, particularly small-scale farmers in North India who face the dual challenges of climate change impacts and economic pressures. Our model transforms these farmers from being perceived as environmental polluters to becoming active participants in climate solutions. We create economic opportunities through our collection and aggregation network, providing additional income streams for farming families during crucial post-harvest periods. Our facility operations prioritize local employment, offering green jobs with skill development pathways that range from basic material handling to advanced plant operations. This approach particularly benefits rural youth who often lack access to technical training and stable employment opportunities. Within our organization, we maintain a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. Our interdisciplinary team includes professionals from various backgrounds, and we actively seek to incorporate local agricultural knowledge and expertise in our decision-making processes. We engage women farmers' groups in our collection networks and provide equal employment opportunities at our processing facilities. Beyond direct employment, our technology transfer and micro-credit support programs enable underrepresented groups to establish their own processing units, fostering entrepreneurship and economic independence in rural communities. This empowerment model creates lasting impact by building local capacity and ownership in climate solutions.

Mission Statement:
Saroja empowers sustainable environmental solutions by bridging gaps between government, business, society, academia, and media. Our initial focus is tackling agricultural air pollution at its source by developing practical alternatives to crop burning and creating value chains for crop residue management.
