As a minority woman leading SignBee Academy, I understand the challenges of navigating industries where representation is scarce.Women hold only 26% of jobs in technology, with minority women making up an even smaller proportion. In the ASL space, fewer than 15% of interpreters in the U.S. identify as minorities, despite the diverse communities they serve, showing the significant gap in representation. Additionally, less than 10% of emerging technologies are specifically designed to address the needs of individuals with disabilities, leaving this vital space underserved.

SignBee Academy addresses these disparities by creating a platform that advocates inclusivity and accessibility for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities—groups historically excluded from equitable communication opportunities. By integrating innovative technology like AI-driven tools with accessible design, the platform ensures that language challenges are minimized, making communication more intuitive and empowering for these communities.
