Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

SkyCool is very focused on creating a positive impact in disadvantaged and low income communities. The problem of heat stress affects low income communities disproportionately due to lack of access to air conditioning. SkyCool is initially targeting large warehouse spaces which are primarily located in disadvantaged and low-income communities. People from low-income and disadvantaged communities also often work within these poorly conditioned buildings and the addition of film will reduce thermal stress and result in fewer hospitalizations from heat. 

Long term, SkyCool will locally manufacture film in the global south and sell film through local distribution channels (initially focused on India and Africa). This will not only reduce our costs, it will provide clean economy jobs and create better living conditions for people without cooling systems.
