Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our project focuses on empowering climate-vulnerable communities, especially marginalized groups within the Sundarbans, who are at the frontline of climate impacts. Given that the region has a high level of male out-migration, women, in particular, face unique challenges in managing households, farm activities, and preparing for climate-related risks without sufficient support or resources. Our project actively trains and engages women through Self-Help Groups (SHGs), building their skills in sustainable livelihood practices, mangrove nursery management, and environmental stewardship. By doing so, we equip them with the knowledge and resources needed to earn a stable income, foster resilience, and become environmental leaders within their communities. We conduct targeted climate awareness and capacity-building programs to equip women leaders with skills in environmental conservation, risk management, and leadership. This enables them to play an active role in safeguarding their communities against climate hazards. Our organization reflects these commitments by involving local representatives from these groups at each level of project implementation. Our goal is to foster an inclusive, community-led approach, ensuring that the voices and needs of underrepresented groups are integral to the planning, execution, and growth of our climate resilience initiatives.
