Project Summary / Description:
We started small at a household level, then we have scaled it up to the residential levels. We already have engaged more than 200 youths in our campaign in fighting food waste within the student dormitories. We have trained 30 students and 30 dormitory management staff in getting hands-on skills of BSF larvae-based food waste management. So far we have prevented 180 kg of food waste going to the landfills, expecting a substantial increase in capacity of food waste managed in our bioconversion facility, which is about 32 kg food waste per day.
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
