How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The SYDEV-OKHI Keeling Curve 2025 project empowers underrepresented groups in the climate movement by prioritizing their inclusion and engagement. Women, people of color, youth, and climate-vulnerable communities receive special consideration in selecting innovative climate solutions. Their perspectives, needs, and contributions are recognized and supported. Within the organization, these groups are well-represented at leadership, decision-making, and project implementation levels. SYDEV-OKHI's commitment to diversity and inclusion fosters a collaborative environment where all voices are heard. To further empower these groups, the project provides capacity-building programs, educational opportunities, and resources tailored to their challenges. This includes training in sustainable agriculture practices such as crop rotation, organic farming, and soil conservation. By improving food security and economic resilience, the project helps these communities adapt to changing climate conditions and reduce their carbon footprint. This holistic approach not only enhances livelihoods but also contributes to broader climate goals, creating a more inclusive and effective climate movement.
