Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
TAHEA Mwanza empowers underrepresented groups—particularly women, youth, and climate-vulnerable communities—by involving them in climate adaptation, sustainable agriculture, and economic empowerment programs. Central to our approach is women’s empowerment, with women leading Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), agroforestry, and community health initiatives. By offering training, resources, and leadership roles, we ensure that women contribute meaningfully to climate solutions, advancing gender equality in the process. Youth engagement is also key, with skills training in climate-resilient agriculture and environmental stewardship that equips young people to be climate leaders in their communities. Our programs provide the knowledge and tools youth need to drive sustainable change. For climate-vulnerable communities, such as smallholder farmers in remote areas, we prioritize access to sustainable farming, clean energy, and financial services to reduce their climate risks. Our diverse leadership team—including women, youth, and local community members—ensures that our approach is inclusive and responsive to those most impacted by climate change. Through this model, TAHEA Mwanza not only empowers these groups but also amplifies their voices within the climate movement, fostering resilience and representation for a sustainable future.
