Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The project empowers young and older women by actively including them in decision-making and fostering leadership roles in the project. Women are pillars of sustainable management and environmental conservation, and have been involved in agroforestry practices since time immemorial. In addition, their economic autonomy is promoted through activities such as the sale of sustainable products and participation in carbon markets. In the organization, young women are represented in the technical team, getting involved in direct actions with the community and in the use of technologies for data collection. This allows them to acquire technical skills, strengthening their leadership in the communities. On the other hand, older women occupy roles as mentors and guardians of traditional knowledge, sharing ancestral wisdom on natural resource management and sustainable cultural practices. Their experience is vital in guiding project initiatives, integrating traditional wisdom with modern conservation approaches. Both groups have equal representation in the organization's decisions, promoting an inclusive and collaborative leadership model that respects and empowers their voices and integrates families.
