Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
uma empowers underrepresented groups, particularly refugee communities in Kakuma, by providing them with economic opportunities in clean energy and logistics. In a region where livelihoods are limited, Tuma offers training and employment as riders and drivers, fostering skills in electric mobility and logistics management. This not only provides refugees with stable income but also empowers them to contribute to a sustainable economy. By focusing on marginalized communities like refugees, women, and youth, we provide them with a platform to participate in the green economy and climate movement. We ensure that these groups are involved at every level, from operational roles to leadership positions in the organization, offering opportunities for upward mobility. In Kakuma, our project creates accessible job pathways for refugees, helping them build skills and economic independence while promoting environmental stewardship. By integrating these vulnerable communities into Tuma’s workforce, we not only address economic challenges but also foster climate resilience, ensuring that those most affected by climate change have a direct stake in its mitigation. Our commitment to diversity is reflected in our recruitment practices and organizational culture, where underrepresented groups are actively supported and celebrated.
