How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
As the WhaleX Foundation is a female management and science led organisation including new graduates and veteran professors. As the team has gone through the rigorous XPRIZE process, requiring that social license to be integrated into our solution, we are well situated to empower groups by example. One of our team members will be devoted to social outreach to under-represented community groups including aboriginal and climate vulnerable communities. The WhaleX Foundation are further developing their social license by educating the community and young scientists on the Ocean Nourishment process by using the natural analogue of the Whale. As the base of the food chain, phytoplankton regenerate ocean health and help to increase fish stocks so an additional goal of the WhaleX Foundation is to ensure these stocks provide protein to malnourished populations.
