How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Wildculture empowers underrepresented groups such as youth, climate-vulnerable or indigenous communities, and rural populations by actively involving them in conservation and sustainable tourism efforts. We focus on equipping young people with the knowledge and skills to lead community-driven conservation initiatives, ensuring that their voices are central to the project’s design and execution. Our approach taps into the rich cultural heritage and traditional ecological knowledge of indigenous and rural communities, preserving their practices while integrating modern conservation strategies to address climate change. These groups are represented throughout our organization, from leadership roles to program implementation. Local youth are trained as facilitators, educators, and ambassadors for eco-tourism and conservation programs. We prioritize partnerships with indigenous and rural communities, ensuring that their perspectives shape our initiatives. By creating economic opportunities in these communities through tourism and carbon credits, Wildculture fosters local ownership of the environmental solutions we implement. This approach strengthens both the social fabric and the resilience of vulnerable communities, making them active participants in the global fight against climate change.
