How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our indirect beneficiaries are small retailers, farmers & other food producers who can now avail the refrigerated logistics services at lower cost with the vehicles enabled by us. Because of the high rental charges for such refrigerated vehicles and big initial capital required to buy their own vehicle, these groups of people either use cheap alternatives like Dry ice etc. or don’t use cold chains at all. Which leads to high food loss and deteriorated quality of the product. Average monthly earnings of the fleet owner would be 60-70,000 INR per vehicle but the profit margins are paper thin in this segment (8-10%). At Yotuh, we are enabling smaller SCVs and EV 3w and 4W to be used for the cold chain. By doing that, we are not just reducing the initial capital required to have own fleet of vehicles but we are also reducing the overall cost of cold logistics by increasing the availability and maximising the profits.
