How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project empowers underrepresented groups, particularly women, youth, and smallholder farmers from climate-vulnerable communities, by providing them with the tools and knowledge to adopt sustainable farming practices and improve their livelihoods. Women, play a crucial role in agriculture but often face barriers to accessing resources and training, are specifically targeted through tailored programs that focus on their unique needs and challenges. We actively recruit women to participate in training, leadership roles, and entrepreneurship opportunities, promoting gender equality in farming and decision-making. Youth are empowered through education and hands-on experience in innovative agricultural practices, renewable energy, and waste management. By equipping young people with practical skills, we foster the next generation of climate-conscious leaders and entrepreneurs. Our project focuses on farmers from climate-vulnerable communities, providing them with the tools to enhance their resilience to climate change. Through training in sustainable practices like agroforestry, precision farming, and Black Soldier Fly farming, we help farmers build more resilient, climate-adapted livelihoods. In our organization, we prioritize diversity and inclusion, ensuring that women and youth occupy key roles, from farm management to operations. Our leadership team reflects this commitment, with women holding critical positions, and we actively engage underrepresented groups in decision-making and program development.
