Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our project directly empowers women and the informal waste picking community, who are disproportionately affected by plastic pollution yet underrepresented in climate tech.

We empower them by formalizing their economic role. Our partnerships with KEPRO and the Danish Refugee Council create a stable, fair-wage market for non-recyclable plastics, directly increasing the income of hundreds of waste pickers, 50% of whom are women. We further empower women by operating our retail fuel distribution through women-owned agency shops, turning them into clean energy entrepreneurs.

Within our organization, this commitment is reflected in our team and hiring. Our Admin & Accounts Officer is a woman, and we have created four part-time roles exclusively for women. Of the 100+ indirect jobs in our supply chain, 50% are held by women. We actively design our operations to provide economic agency to women and to uplift the informal sector, ensuring they are not just beneficiaries but central, valued actors in the climate solution we are building.
