Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project trains young community ambassadors, particularly women and rural youth, in climate-smart practices for sustainable okra farming. By involving them directly in planning, implementation, and monitoring of eco-friendly farming techniques, we provide practical skills and leadership roles within their communities. Participants gain knowledge in sustainable soil management, water-efficient irrigation, and climate adaptation, strengthening their economic independence and confidence. Within our organization, these groups are represented in coordination and training teams, ensuring their voices shape the project’s actions. The project also includes workshops on marketing and value additionfor okra, allowing participants to identify local economic opportunities while contributing to food security and community resilience to climate change. This approach ensures that underrepresented groups are both beneficiaries and active decision-makers, fostering lasting empowerment.
Mission Statement:
Empower rural youth and women to become climate-smart leaders by promoting sustainable okra farming practices that enhance food security, strengthen community resilience, and foster economic empowerment in the Man region of Côte d’Ivoire. »
