Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Nampya Farmers Market was built to place those most affected by climate and economic inequities—smallholder farmers, women, and rural youth—at the heart of climate action. Over 70% of our network members are women farmers, many of whom manage small plots but carry the greatest burden of food insecurity and climate vulnerability. By connecting them to clean energy-powered hubs, fair markets, and real-time logistics data, we enhance their incomes, agency, and resilience to climate shocks.

Our model ensures that these groups are not passive beneficiaries but co-designers of solutions. Through participatory innovation workshops and local leadership networks, women and youth directly inform the design of logistics systems, solar hub operations, and market interfaces.

Within our organization, women hold leadership roles in community engagement, operations, and finance. We prioritize inclusive hiring, youth mentorship, and local capacity building to ensure representation at every level. By empowering climate-vulnerable groups to lead, we are cultivating a new generation of system changers—people whose lived experience guides the regeneration of Africa’s food and energy systems.
