Smallholder farmers are provided with guaranteed market for their cereal and legumes and empowered with sunlight water pumps to take irrigation farming as source of income unlike cutting of trees for charcoal for sale

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
The overall objective of the project is to mitigate and prevent further man-made destruction of the environment. The enterprise is changing the agricultural production cycle of women and youth’s smallholder farmers in Mafinga and Serenje Districts inZambia by empowering them with sunlight water pumps for irrigation purposes and providing them with guaranteed market for their cereal, legumes and other crops at the local rural. This is to empower them and save on hard labor and making them to grow and irrigate large position and yield much for sale as an income generating activity unlike cutting of trees for charcoal for sale. The farming using innovative methods by Sunlight water pumps for irrigation on their farms provided as long-term loans in order that during the dry season, the farmers are able to continue irrigation farming by using the Sunlight pumps to pump water from their boreholes or streams or rivers for irrigation. The main aim is to making irrigation technology available affordable even to the poor people in Mafinga and Serenje Districts in Muchinga and Central Provinces respectively and to act as a pilot program to scale to all parts of the country Zambia to reach 1.5million smallholder farmers.
Mission Statement:
Our mission as a social for profit enterprise is working with smallholder farmers in the rural Zambia and empowering them with sunlight water pumps for irrigation to stop deforestation for charcoal as source of income and providing guaranteed market for their cereal and legume crops at the local rural.
