How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project is designed by and for Cameroon's underrepresented communities, with 100% Cameroonian leadership at all levels. We focus on empowering women smallholder farmers, who form 70% of the agricultural workforce but face systemic barriers. Our women-led field teams provide tailored training in regenerative techniques to 500+ female farmers annually, while our childcare-inclusive programs ensure full participation. Half of all decision-making roles in farmer committees are held by women, reflecting our commitment to gender equity. Youth from local communities are central to our model, with 40% of participants aged 18-35 trained as "Climate Champions" who lead peer education. Indigenous knowledge systems are integrated into all our agroforestry plans through direct collaboration with community elders. Every member of our leadership team comes from climate-vulnerable regions of Cameroon, ensuring solutions are grounded in local realities. We break down barriers through: Mobile units reaching remote villages inaccessible to traditional programs Flexible microloans adapted to local economic conditions Benefit-sharing systems aligned with community values This locally-rooted approach ensures 80% of participants come from groups traditionally excluded from climate solutions, creating authentic, scalable impact led by those most affected by environmental challenges.
