How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Inclusion and empowerment of underrepresented groups Approach: the project centers local, climate‑vulnerable communities by creating green jobs, lowering construction costs, and building local capacity to manufacture low‑carbon bricks. We prioritize skills training, micro‑enterprise support, and accessible procurement so benefits flow to those most affected by climate and economic risk. Programs and mechanisms: targeted training and apprenticeships for women and youth; preferential procurement and micro‑franchising for women‑led groups; paid collection and sorting roles for low‑income households to turn PET waste into income; sliding‑scale pricing or small‑loan options for community builders; and community demonstration builds to build trust and demand. Representation and governance: leadership is locally rooted and we commit to inclusive governance—establishing an advisory committee with community representatives, at least one seat reserved for women and one for youth. Operational targets include 30–50 direct local jobs in the next 12 months and explicit hiring goals (e.g., aiming for ≥40% women in production and ≥30% staff under 30) during scale‑up. Measurement: we track jobs by gender/age, income changes for participating households, and number of women‑led micro‑units to ensure the project advances equity alongside climate impact.
Mission Statement:
Mission To manufacture and commercialize high-quality, modular, eco-friendly bricks made from soil-cement and recycled PET bottle powder, ensuring environmental preservation while promoting social inclusion and employment opportunities for youth.
