Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project is designed to empower underrepresented groups by integrating inclusivity into both research and implementation. We actively involve women, early career researchers, and students from climate vulnerable communities in Ethiopia and partner institutions, ensuring they gain hands on experience in advanced catalyst development, reactor engineering, and sustainability assessment. By providing training in laboratory safety, operando characterization, and life cycle analysis, we build technical capacity among groups that are often excluded from high impact climate innovation. Representation within our organization reflects this commitment. Our team includes women scientists, researchers of color, and youth trainees from Haramaya University and partner universities in Europe and the Middle East. We prioritize mentorship, mobility programs, and collaborative workshops that create pathways for these groups to contribute meaningfully to climate solutions. In addition, by situating part of the project in Ethiopia a region highly vulnerable to climate change we ensure that local communities benefit directly from knowledge transfer, skill development, and future employment opportunities. Through this inclusive approach, the project not only advances CO₂ utilization technologies but also strengthens diversity in the climate movement, empowering voices that are critical for building equitable, global solutions to the climate crisis.
