Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our project places underrepresented and climate-vulnerable groups—especially sanitation workers, low-income communities, and women—at the center of climate action. Waste workers in India are among the most marginalized groups, often facing unsafe conditions, social stigma, and exclusion from formal employment. WeVOIS Labs directly addresses this inequity by providing over 1,900 sanitation workers with fair wages, PPE, digital tools, health insurance, PF/ESI benefits, training, and opportunities for upward mobility. This transforms a historically informal and exploited workforce into skilled, respected climate workers who play a crucial role in reducing methane emissions and enabling circular systems.

Our community engagement programs prioritize households in lower-income and climate-vulnerable neighborhoods, ensuring access to segregation awareness, composting training, and safe collection services. Many of our IEC leaders and field trainers are women from underserved communities, creating pathways for leadership and income generation.

Within our organization, underrepresented groups hold key roles—including community trainers, field supervisors, operational leaders, and IEC specialists—reflecting our belief that climate solutions must be rooted in lived experience. We also actively employ youth in technology, data, and field operations, building the next generation of climate professionals.

Mission Statement:

To transform urban and rural sanitation systems by deploying IoT-based tracking, decentralized recycling infrastructure, and community-first waste collection models, while creating dignified livelihoods for thousands of sanitation workers.
