Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

The project implementation takes gender and vulnerable groups into account in the strategy for carrying out activities, particularly by considering the interests and integrating disadvantaged social groups and households within the local population into the implementation of actions, facilitating their access to factors of production and distribution. Women, in particular, are involved in market gardening production and the distribution of produce at the market level. Social equity will be strengthened through employment opportunities for young people in the various value chains. The project will establish mechanisms to support women and the most disadvantaged in their participation in project activities.
In addition to addressing gender, social equity, and the needs of vulnerable people, the project also responds to the needs of other marginalized and vulnerable groups, particularly internally displaced persons, by facilitating their access to factors of production and agri-food products. This situation is due to insecurity in certain areas of the region where the displaced population is mostly impoverished.
