Primary Project Category:
How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Empowerment through "Inclusive Empowerment" EWaste Africa operates on a core philosophy of "Inclusive Empowerment." We deliberately prioritize a manual disassembly model over full automation. This strategic choice allows us to offer greater employment opportunities. Disability-Inclusive Infrastructure We are actively investing in facility upgrades to make our manual dismantling lines fully accessible to people living with disabilities. This includes specific ergonomic investments such as lowering workbench heights to accommodate wheelchair users and redesigning toolstations for seated operation. By adapting the physical workspace to the worker, rather than forcing the worker to adapt to the machine, we open our labor pool to a demographic that is systematically excluded from the industrial sector. Representation in Leadership We are a proudly Black-owned enterprise. This ownership status ensures our strategic vision is rooted in the lived reality of South Africa's developing economy. Our leadership represents the demographic we aim to serve, ensuring that our growth directly translates into economic equity for historically underrepresented communities.
