How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Crop4Shares directly empowers rural women and climate-vulnerable smallholder communities; groups profoundly underrepresented in climate finance and leadership. Our model is designed for them: Empowerment through Ownership: We mandate that at least 40% of cooperative leadership and equity shares are held by women. Ownership gives them economic authority, decision-making power, and a permanent stake in climate-resilient assets, moving them from vulnerable laborers to business leaders. Representation in Our Organization: I, the founder, am from the very community we serve in Northern Uganda, embodying lived experience of climate vulnerability. Our advisory board includes Ugandan women experts in cooperative law and agri-finance, ensuring our strategies are grounded in local gender and cultural contexts. Our platform’s USSD technology is specifically chosen for its accessibility to women and elders in remote areas with low digital literacy, ensuring inclusion isn’t limited by tech barriers. By building wealth and agency for the most climate-affected, we center those traditionally excluded in the climate solution

Mission Statement:
To actively reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by empowering smallholder farmers to own and operate localized agro-processing, thereby slashing post-harvest food waste, cutting supply chain emissions, and building a more climate-resilient food system from the ground up
