Project Summary / Description:

This initiative aims to build a flexible sensor adaptable to various soil uses. Its compact and simple design facilitates operation, requiring no specialized training. It allows monitoring of carbon emissions from soil biological activity, as well as identifying practices that minimize carbon dioxide emissions. The device would have a lower price than those available in the market, thus enabling a more equitable access to carbon emissions measuring.

Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

This projects aims to give small rural communities (mainly in LMICs) equitable access to a technology related to carbon emission measurement, which as has been mentioned before, is the first step for implementing regenerative agriculture programs or selling carbon credits. By this means, the communities would have the power to take more conscious decisions based on their own data (adjust their practices and obtain value from that, for example).
