How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)', 'Removes/stores GHGs (e.g., projects that capture, sequester, or otherwise enhance the "sinks" that accumulate and store GHGs)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Project implementation plan ensure women participation by ensuring that household chores do not forgo active participation in agricultural activities. Project avails resources needed to adapt to climate change by women farmers thereby laying the foundation to gender transformative approach. Project asserts women farmers’ power over resources, power to act and realize own agribusiness aspirations, collaborative and collective power as well as women’s self-worth, self-awareness and self-knowledge. It creates structured spaces and processes for critical examination of beliefs, attitudes and practices around gender among farmers in target areas. Resources availed through the project support local processes to transition to gender transformative climate resilience and low carbon emissions. The project improves women livelihoods, diversify sources of income, create market linkages, improve skills, adaptive capacity and planning which constitute constrains that have been limiting effective participation of women and girls in climate change initiatives. The project encompasses a participatory approach that gives women enough influencing and decision making space in the whole cycle of the project. Women have space to assume leadership role as actors of change in the transition to low carbon & gender transformative climate change adaptation for replication and up-scaling in other parts of the country.
