Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

The Closetorium is explicitly designed to center groups historically underrepresented in both the climate movement and fashion industry leadership. Our organization is 100% women-led across board and operations, and we serve a predominantly female membership base navigating cost burdens, creative livelihoods, and social pressure to consume. 

By offering affordable access to high-quality clothing, The Clostorium reduces financial strain while enabling self-expression, professional mobility, and participation in community life.  Our model also creates accessible climate jobs in garment care, repair, organizing, and education; roles often filled by women and creatives whose labor is undervalued in traditional economics. 

Community workshops, clothing swaps, and events further democratize climate action by making participation tangible, social and culturally relevant. Rather than positioning sustainability as luxury, The Closetorium reframes its as a shared resource; empowering women and vulnerable communities to lead climate solutions that are practical, joyful, and rooted in everyday life.

Mission Statement:

The Closetorium is a non profit Fashion Library providing a better alternative to fast fashion.  Within an abundant wardrobe that acts like a library, members can browse, withdraw, and swap, while saving money, accessing more and reduce or eliminate the 81lbs of textile waste/person/year in the landfill.
