Project Summary / Description:

Terra Doce is an active territorial regeneration program launched in 2023 and implemented by Instituto Terra in the Doce River Basin, Brazil. In 2024, the program supported 382 rural families, restored 358 springs, implemented 449 water and soil conservation structures, installed 25 biodigesters, and established 133 hectares under sustainable production systems. By integrating ecosystem restoration, regenerative agriculture, water security, and participatory governance, Terra Doce strengthens natural carbon sinks and climate resilience. Future plans include expanding spring restoration, consolidating sustainable production systems, and advancing the program’s second phase across the basin in partnership with local organizations.
