How Project Affects Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions:
['Replaces/avoids GHGs (e.g., projects that replace sources of GHGs, such as the burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, transport, or other energy uses)', 'Reduces GHGs (e.g., projects that reduce sources of GHGs, such as through efficiency or other changes in consumption)']
Impact on Underrepresented Groups:
Our project actively empowers groups historically underrepresented in the climate movement, including women, youth, and climate-vulnerable communities. We provide targeted skills development in sustainable waste management and green technology, mentorship, and leadership opportunities, enabling participants to lead and benefit from climate solutions. Community-based training programs ensure knowledge transfer and hands-on experience, fostering both agency and economic empowerment. Within our organization, women hold 50% of leadership and technical roles, and youth represent over 40% of our core team, ensuring diverse perspectives shape our strategy and operations. We also collaborate directly with communities disproportionately affected by environmental challenges, co-creating solutions that address both climate impact and social inequities. By prioritizing inclusion, we strengthen resilience, build capacity, and cultivate future climate leaders from marginalized groups. This approach ensures that our interventions are not only environmentally effective but socially equitable, creating sustainable pathways for underrepresented communities to engage in and drive the green economy.
Mission Statement:
To improve public health and environmental outcomes by deploying innovative green technologies that transform waste systems, reduce pollution, and empower communities to adopt sustainable practices.
