Impact on Underrepresented Groups:

Our project is designed to empower underrepresented groups by integrating them directly into the climate solution value chain. Women farmers, who form the majority of suppliers, benefit by selling banana stems and pineapple leaves that would otherwise be discarded or burned. This provides them with new income streams while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Youth are engaged through employment opportunities in processing, factory operations, and logistics, giving them skills and livelihoods in a growing green industry.

Farmers holistically benefit not only from extra income but also from access to organic fertilizer, a by‑product of our production line, which we provide in exchange for raw materials. This strengthens soil health, reduces dependence on chemical inputs, and enhances food security.

Within our leadership, Mrs. Grisildah Mseteka, a shareholder and Director, represents women at the highest level of decision‑making, ensuring gender perspectives are embedded in organizational strategy. Our inclusive governance model prioritizes diversity and equity, with deliberate efforts to involve climate‑vulnerable communities in supply chains and training programs.

By creating markets for waste, jobs for youth, leadership opportunities for women, and sustainable practices for farmers, GriTex ensures that groups often excluded from the climate movement are central to our operations and long‑term vision.
